FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator do I use to work out how much margin a gold trade needs?

Use the margin calculator. It takes your lot size and the leverage cap that applies to the entity serving the Philippines and returns the margin required. As a reference, at that cap a 0.10-lot XAU/USD position needs about $85.50 margin. Convert the result to pesos at your own rate.

How do I know what a 0.01 move in gold is worth in pesos?

Use the pip value calculator. For XAU/USD one pip is 0.01, and one standard lot is 100 oz, so the dollar value per pip scales with your lot size. The tool shows the figure, and you convert to pesos at the rate you actually get, which is rarely the headline rate.

Can these tools tell me where to put my stop loss?

No, they do not pick levels for you. The position size calculator works backwards: you enter your account size, the risk you accept and your stop distance, and it returns a lot size. The pivot points tool gives reference levels you can compare against, but the decision stays yours.

Which tool shows profit or loss on a trade I am planning?

The profit calculator. Enter entry, exit and lot size and it returns the result in dollars for XAU/USD, which you then read in pesos. It is useful for checking whether a target is worth the margin it ties up before you commit, rather than after.

Are the calculators free to use and do they need my account details?

They are free and they do not need your account details or a login. You type numbers in and read numbers out. Nothing is sent to a broker, and no result is a recommendation; the output is only as good as the lot size, stop distance and prices you enter.
